Love and truth are not opposites, even though culture often treats them that way. The book of 2 John shows us that genuine, biblical love is shaped by God's commands, grounded in His truth, and always oriented toward people. John makes clear that loving others well sometimes requires difficult conversations, healthy boundaries, and the courage to reject false teaching. Boundaries are not unloving; they are protective and biblical. At the same time, truth without a heart for people is just correction. The goal of biblical love is never to win an argument but to win people. Jesus modeled this perfectly, holding mercy and truth together without sacrificing one for the other. Biblical love calls us to do the same.
