Nehemiah 4:1-23

In a world where we protect our homes, families, and finances, we must also guard something even more precious: God's truth and church unity. Drawing from Nehemiah's story of rebuilding Jerusalem's walls amid opposition, we learn that following God's will inevitably brings resistance. When we're vulnerable - whether physically exhausted, emotionally strained, or spiritually dry - the enemy attacks with lies and division. Our response should mirror Nehemiah's: pray first, then continue building while standing guard. We must know Scripture well enough to recognize false teaching, distinguish between true enemies and fellow believers, and actively pursue unity. Just as Jerusalem's broken walls brought disgrace to God's name, churches that fall into disrepair through false doctrine or division misrepresent God to their communities.
