Christmas Compass
Christmas traditions can either draw us closer to Jesus or distract us from Him entirely. By examining the principles God established for Passover in Exodus 12, we discover three essential elements for meaningful celebrations: intentional meaning, pointing to God's rescue plan, and leading to worship. When the Israelites celebrated Passover, they were required to explain its significance to their children, connecting the ceremony to God's deliverance from Egypt. Similarly, our Christmas traditions should connect to the ultimate rescue story - God becoming human to save us from sin and death. Every decoration, gift, and celebration should ultimately lead our hearts to worship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit for the miracle of the Incarnation.
